Man shot dead outside his house in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A 56-year-old man was shot dead outside his house by unidentified miscreants at Kandhapal village under Gengutia Panchayat in Dhenkanal district early this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Dalei Nayak of Kandhapal village.

Sources said when Dalei was sitting the veranda of his house at around 7 am today, some miscreants came and opened fire at him and fled the spot.

Though the exact reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, previous enmity is suspected to have led to the incident.

After a while, the vindictive family members of the deceased allegedly attacked the wife and 3-year-old son of one of the accused leaving them critically injured. Later, the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
