Man stabs mother to death in Odisha’s Kandhamal

Phulbani: A man allegedly stabbed his mother to death at Beherapadar village under Sadar police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district late last night.

According to reports, an argument erupted between accused Bhagirathi Behera and his mother Urmila Behera (60) over a land dispute. The matter took a violent turn as Bhagirathi lost his cool and stabbed his mother with a knife killing her on the spot.

Bhagirathi absconded after the incident while efforts were on by police to trace and nab him. Further investigation was underway.
