Man stones wife to death on suspicion of extramarital affair in Cuttack

Cuttack: In a heartrending incident, a woman was stoned to death by her husband on suspicion of infidelity at Uttarsahi village under Gobindpur police station in Cuttack district lats night. However, police have arrested the accused identified as Balaram Nayak this morning.

As per sources, Balaram along with his wife Damayanti was staying separately from his parents due to family dispute. However, Balaram has been suspecting his wife of cheating on him. Even, he used to fight with Damayanti frequently accusing her of having an illicit affair with a neighbour.

On the fateful night, both had a heated argument over the same issue. Later, the Balaram killed his wife by hitting her head with a grinding stone. Soon after that, the accused fled and took shelter at a relative’s house at Jarapada village in Tangi area.

On receiving information, a team of police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident. The cops arrested the accused from Jarapada village this morning and are interrogating him.
