Nabarangpur: A man allegedly thrashed his drunk son to death at Bangiyakhanda village under Umerkote block of Odisha's Nabarangpur district, late last night. The deceased was identified as Sameer Ray (25).

According to reports, Sameer used to create nuisance after returning home in inebriated state. Last night, he reached home after consuming liquor and scolded his father Bipul Ray.

Losing cool, Bipul started hitting his son's head with a crowbar repeatedly. The victim sustained critical injuries in the attack and died on the spot after bleeding profusely.

After committing the offence, the accused surrendered at the Umerkote police station.

The incident has left the residents of the locality in a state of shock.
