Man thrashes wife to death, kills himself in Odisha’s Balasore

Bhadrak: Family feud turned fatal as a man allegedly thrashed his wife to death and died by suicide at Tilada village under Khaira police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district, last night.

The deceased were identified as Babu Das and his wife Mina Das.

According to reports, a heated argument took place between the two, following which he thrashed her with a wooden plank.

The woman sustained critical injuries and was rescued by some villagers, who took her to Khaira Hospital. However, she was declared dead there.

On the other hand, Babu consumed poison after the incident. He was rushed to Khaira Hospital and later shifted to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police have recovered the two bodies for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the incident.
