Kendrapara: In a barbaric incident, a woman was killed by her husband in Giriapala village near Gopalpur of Mahakalpada area, today.

The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Basanti Behera.

According to reports, her husband Babuli Sutara threashed her to death with a wooden plank.

The local ward member registered a complaint in Mahakalpada police station after which the cops launched a probe into the matter.

The accused, Sutara is currently absconding.

Worth mentioning, one Khela Soren of Madhavpur village in Mayurbhanj district beat his wife with a bamboo log over a domestic tiff and killed her, a few days ago.
