Man throws acid at father-son duo over land dispute in Odisha’s Puri; victims critical

Puri: A man allegedly threw acid at a father-son duo over land dispute at Uasapadar village under Krushna Prasad block of Odisha’s Puri district, today.

According to reports, the land dispute was prevailing between two families of the village. It took an ugly turn today as accused Santosh Maharana threw acid at Adhikari Tarei and his son Rajendra Tarei while the two were working at farmland.

The victims sustained critical injuries in the acid attack. They were initially rushed to the Krushna Prasad Community Health Centre and later shifted to AIIMS in Bhubaneswar for better treatment.

On the basis of a complaint lodged by the family members of the victims, police have detained Maharana for questioning and started investigation into the matter.
