Baripada: A man was trampled to death by an elephant under Bangiriposi forest range in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district this morning.
The deceased was identified as Bududa Murmu (49), a resident of Bhurudubani village.
The person became victim while he was warding off a herd of elephants that were damaging the crops on Thursday morning, said Ranger Tapan Kumar Das.
Following incident, Jharpokharia police and Bangiriposi Ranger reached the spot and initiated probe.
