Manmohan Samal appointed as President of Odisha BJP

Bhubaneswar: In a significant political development in Odisha ahead of the 2024 polls, senior BJP leader Manmohan Samal was today appointed as the President of the Odisha unit of the party.

The fresh appointment was made by BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda.

Samal replaced Samir Mohanty as the chief of the Odisha BJP. He had earlier served as the Odisha BJP President twice.

Samal was also a minister during the BJD-BJP coalition government in Odisha.

He was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from Dhamnagar Constituency in 2004.

“The BJP will fight against the growing injustice, corruption and exploitation by the State Government. The party will change the scenario in 2024. People want an alternative government in Odisha. The BJP will provide it to them,” said Samal.

Samal’s appointment as Odisha BJP President holds significance as the party has aimed to improve its performance significantly in the upcoming assembly polls and form government in the state.
