Bhubaneswar: Manoranjan Sarangi, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Odisha Television Limited (OTV), today resigned from the post citing health issue and personal reasons.
Sarangi, who has recently been arrested by the Odisha Crime Branch (CB) in connection with Sarua land scam, also stepped down from the Director’s post of Odisha Infratech Private Limited.
In the resignation letter to the Managing Director of OTV, Sarangi said he has high diabetes and hypertension and his sudden arrest by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of CB has resulted in further deterioration of his health condition. He also explained that his family is in distress following his arrest while his octogenarian mother has been hospitalized.
“Under such circumstances, I am not in a mental position to continue my service in the company,” the official said in the letter.
On November 1, the EOW had arrested Sarangi for his alleged involvement in purchasing of land belonging to some scheduled caste persons of Sarua village in Khordha district in fraudulent manner.
