Rourkela, Feb 15:
After a two-hour long gun battle in Rejeda forested area under K Balang police limits of Odisha’s Sundargarh district, security forces arrested a senior Maoist cadre, police sources said today.
Though there were no reports of any casualty from either side, police said other Maoists who were present in the area managed to escape.
Police said they were withholding the name and details of the arrested Maoist as interrogation process is not yet over and security reasons were involved too.
A source in the police said as the red rebel was privy to vital informations about the party and its plans. However, police was reluctant to divulge details due to the sensitivity of the case.
