Maoist camp busted in Malkangiri; combing operation underway

Malkangiri: Busting a Maoists camp, Malakangiri police seized huge cache of arms and ammunition following an exchange of fire that took place in Tulasi Pahada under Mathili block of Malkangiri district last night.

However, no arrest was made in this connection.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of around 400 Maoists in the camp, a police team led by Malkangiri SP Jagmohan Meena conducted a raid in Tulasi Pahada area late last night. Seeing the police, the ultras opened fire at them, following which the cops retaliated. Later, all red rebels managed to escape from the spot.

The combing operation in the area was on till last reports came in. However, the Malkangiri SP was not available to comment on the matter.
