Nuapada: Security forces have seized a cache of arms and ammunitions while busting a Maoist camp at Patdhara near Chhattisgarh border in Odisha's Nuapada district here on Thursday.
As per reports, Nuapada police received intelligence from reliable sources about a huge camping of Naxalites of CPI (Maoist) in large numbers in Patdhara reserve forest under Sinapali and Boden blocks of Nuapada near Odisha-Chhattisgarh border.
The tip-offs indicated that the Red Rebels had gathered to plan various strategies against the security forces and carry out subversive activities. Basing on the information, a joint combing operation was carried out by security forces of SOG, DVF and CRPF on June 27. Two days later, the forces unearthed a Naxal camp near Jholapada village in Patdhara reserve forest under Sinapali block. During the searches, the security personnel seized ammunitions including hand grenade, Maoist literature, Maoist uniform, radio, solding iron, battery, haversack among other things.
Official sources said the combing operation is ongoing in the area.
