Malkangiri, Jun 7:
Secretary of Malkangiri Division of CPI (Maoist), Punam Chand has alleged that Maoist commander Chinnabai was killed by police after being tortured following his surrender.
Worth mentioning, Chinnabai was reportedly killed in an exchange of fire between naxals and security forces at Kapatuti forest under Chitrakonda police limits on Odisha-Andhra Pradesh border on June 3.
However, in a letter to media, Punam said Chinnabai had surrendered before police on May 27.
The cops later tortured and killed him at a forest and named the incident as an encounter, Punam claimed in the letter and also demanded that Human Rights Commission should probe into the incident.
On the other hand, Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra has rubbished the allegations.
