Maoists have hoisted black flags at several places, including Kalimela College. Black flags were also hoisted by Maoists at Silakota, Kartanpalli and several other places. BSF have removed these flags and seized them.

BSF jawans and police personnel had a providential escape during a combing operation on Thursday when a pressure bomb planted by Maoists went off moments after they passed by a road at Telrai chowk near the Kalimela-Motu main road. The impact of the explosion was so great that it created a large crater at the site.

The pressure bomb was activated when a stone came rolling from a hill due to heavy rains.
