Maoists blow up newly constructed road in Odisha’s Swabhiman area
Malkangiri: Residents of Swabhiman area in Malkangiri district were in a state of panic after Maoists allegedly blew up a portion of newly constructed road connecting Bicharapakhna and Hantalaguda today evening. The Red rebels carried out the explosion through a remotely controlled device.
Locals said Maoists had been opposing construction of Bicharapakhna-Hantalaguda road and had triggered the landmine blast targeting security personnel. However, fortunately no one was injured in the incident.

Sources said CRPF personnel have intensified their operations following the landmine blast in the area.
Earlier in the day, Security Advisor in Home Ministry, K. Vijay Kumar visited the Swabhiman area to review security situation.
