Maoists give call for ‘Shaheed Diwas’ week, posters surface in Odisha’s Bargarh

The posters, which included handwritten letters in Odia and Hindi, were seen along the road near the Rural Development division office near the bus stand in Jamseth area of  Paikmal.

Paikmal: Ahead of Shaheed Diwas, Maoist posters have surfaced after a lull in many villages under Paikmal block of Odisha’s Bargarh district, with messages to observe the Martyr’s Week from July 28 to August 3.

The posters, which included handwritten letters in Odia and Hindi, were seen along the road near the Rural Development division office near the bus stand in Jamseth area of  Paikmal. The letters, written by members of CPI (Maoist)’s Balangir-Bargarh-Mahasmund division, urged people to commemorate the sacrifices of martyred Maoists and work towards accomplishing their unfulfilled goals of overcoming the tyranny of Brahmanical Hinduism and paving the way for a social revolution. The pamphlets also urged people to avenge the death of slain Maoists and observe the Shaheed Diwas in their memory.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the Naxal-affected areas for the coming days.
