Maoists gun down civil contractor in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: Members of CPI (Maoist) this morning allegedly gunned down a super class contractor while he was supervising work at a site in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

As per sources, the deceased identified as Shiba Shankar Dash alias Tunu Dash was shot dead near Paji Bahali under Bijepur police limits in the tribal-dominated district.

Dash was at a site to supervise work and distribute wages to the workmen. However, the members of the outlawed group fired indiscriminately at Dash killing him on the spot.

Sources further revealed that the seven Red rebels reached the spot in three motorcycles and pumped four bullets into Dash’s body.

The incident took place at around 10 am.

Police have begun investigating into the case.
