Suspected Maoists killed a person in Odiapentha village, about 3 kms from here, on Sunday night.

A group of about 15-20 Maoists barged into the house of Komulu Maniaka from the back side around 9 pm last night and hacked him to death with an axe, his wife said on Monday. They had switched off the lights of the house and paid no heed to her pleadings to spare her husband, she said adding that the intruders had come in Maoist outfits.

Contrary to their standard practice, however, the Maoists have not left behind any letter at the spot claiming responsibility for the murder or giving the reason for the killing.
