Maoists kill villager in Odisha

Panic gripped Patamunda village under Pallahara police station limits in Odisha’s Angul district following the brutal murder of a villager who was hacked to death by a group of armed Maoists on Thursday night.

Maoist picAccording to reports, about 4-5 armed Maoists arrived at the village at about 9 PM. Later, they took Samuel Bodra with them and hacked him to death with an axe after tying his hands and legs with a rope.

The villagers found the body with some Maoist posters near it on the outskirts of the village this morning.

The posters mentioned the name of Kalinganagar-Ghumusar Divisional Committee of the CPI Maoists.

Following information, police rushed to the spot and took the body for post mortem.

Meanwhile, police have begun combing operation in Patamunda forest area to trace out the Maoists, the reports added.
