Malkangiri: The security was tightened and combing operations were launched in Maoists-dominated districts of Odisha for the Peoples Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) being observed by the ultras from today.
During the PLGA week, the Maoists have called for bandh putting up posters and banners in various places in Koraput and Malkangiri and asking the locals to support them.
The government bus services from Koraput to Rayagada, Malkangiri and Gajapati districts have been suspended suspecting possible violence in the areas.
The authorities intensified combing operations in bordering areas and police are deployed on entrance points of these districts for checking vehicles.
The BSF, DVF and SOG teams are also conducting anti-Maoists operations in the remote areas of Koraput, Malkangiri and Gajapati districts.
The red rebels will observe the PLGA week till December 8.
