A group of armed Maoists on Friday night had abducted two persons from Mundaguda village in Kamarpalli panchayat under Mathili block in Odisha’s Malkangiri district suspecting them to be police informers.

Around 15-20 armed rebels had stormed into the village and took away the duo– Sina Madhi and Dambaru Sagadia–from their houses on gun point. Both of them were badly beaten up when they resisted the red rebels.

One of the two, Sina Madhi had later managed to escape from the clutches of the Maoists. Today, the villagers have found the body of the deceased, Dambaru Sagadia with throat slit near the Kansariputa Chhak .

Source said posters were found near the body of Sagadia mentioning that the villager has faced the consequence as he was passing off information about Maoists to police.

Notably, around 25 persons have been abducted by the members of the outlawed groups in the last two months in the district. They were allegedly beaten up by the ultras on suspicion of being police informers.
