Nayagarh: A married woman was allegedly raped for 21 days inside a truck cabin in Nayagarh district after being abducted from Jaleswar area in Balasore district.

Following allegation lodged at the Fategarh Police Station in Nayagarh district, the husband of the rape survivor has taken her to their home.

According to reports, a married woman, who is also an under graduate student, lives with her family that includes her husband, 5-year-old daughter and her sister, at a house on rent at Khuluda locality under Jaleswar police limits in Balasore district.

On March 24, while she was going to a nearby xerox shop to make photocopy of some important documents, an SUV stopped on her way and one person inside the vehicle asked her for the directions to a particular route. Seeing her busy at talk, another person inside the vehicle suddenly opened the door that hit on her head following which she fell down and became unconscious.

When she regained her consciousness found herself without clothes inside cabin of a truck stationed near a road in Nayagarh district. After she cried for help, two youth of the age group between 25 and 30 threatened to kill her if she did not obey their order. The frightened woman remained silent. Subsequently, the duo allegedly raped her many a time inside the closed cabin of the truck for more than 20 days.

However, the rape survivor managed to escape from clutches of two youth when they had gone for lunch to a nearby hotel. After she found that one of the doors of the truck is not closed, she descended from the vehicle cautiously and ran off. She took shelter at a house after walking around 5 km via Bolagarh Railway Station.

In this connection, the woman first lodged the complaint at the Jagannath Prasad Police Outpost and later she approached the Fategarh Police seeking action against the accused persons.

The Fategarh Police IIC Girija Nandan Patnaik registered the case and initiated probe into the matter. On receiving information, the Jaleswar Police officials and the rape survivor's husband rushed to the Fategarh Police Station. The woman was sent to her home with husband following medical examination at the Bhapur CHC and recording her statement under section 164 at the Bhapur JMFC Court.
