Odisha police takes gangster Tito on another one-day remand

Bhubaneswar: The Marsaghai police today took gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito on another one-day remand to interrogate him in connection with two murder cases and illegal sand mining.

Earlier in the day, Tito was produced before Kendrapara SDJM court, which allowed the Marshaghai police to take him on a fresh remand. The police had taken the gangster on one-day remand yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch (CB) today arrested Kamalesh Chain, an aide of the gangster, at Purusottampur village under Kendrapara Sadar police limits. Earlier in the day, he was detained by police for his alleged involvement in land scam.

Source said the Marsaghai police has reopened two murder cases under the supervision of SDPO Rajiv Lochan Panda.

The cops will interrogate Tito in connection with the murder of one Raj Kishore Behera and Aswajit Sahu alias Lulu in 2015 and 2013 respectively. During interrogation by STF, Tito had earlier confessed to be the mastermind behind the two murders, sources added.
