Mask mandatory for refilling at fuel stations in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A day after the Odisha Government imposed fine for not wearing mask in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Utkal Petroleum Dealers Association today decided not to sell petrol/diesel/CNG to customers not wearing masks.

Informing about the decision, secretary of the association,  Sanjay Lath said if the employees at the fuel stations are wearing masks, the customers should also do the same. The decision was taken to ensure safety of the employees, he said.

The Odisha government has made not wearing a mask in public an offence and decided to impose fines on offenders. The government will impose Rs 200 for not wearing masks for the first, second and third offence. The penalty will go up to Rs 500 for subsequent offences. The general public has been directed to cover their mouths and noses with any available form of mask while stepping out of the house for any purpose.
