Mayor row: Odisha Congress stages dharna before BMC office

Demanding resignation of city Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena over his alleged involvement in the murder of engineering student Asutosh Mohanty alias Rishi, Congress today staged a dharna in front of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office here.

The party has also demanded an impartial and CBI probe into the murder case and the controversial video which allegedly and purportedly features Jena.

PCC President Prasad Harichandan had yesterday said that Congress will hold a marathon demonstration in front of BMC office and the agitation will continue till Mayor’s resignation.

It may re recalled here that a scuffle had ensued between Congress activists and policemen at Rajmahal Square here on December 20 when the former were proceeding towards Jena’s house in a protest march demanding a CBI probe into the case.
