The seats were approved after the MCI team visited SCB last month to inspect infrastructure.

However, the SCB authorities denied giving any statement till not getting the approval order officially from MCI.

Earlier, the MBBS seats at SCB were raised to 250 from 150 in 2013. A team of MCI had visited the medical college on August 28 last year for assessing the infrastructure to decide approval for seat hike for the session 2017-18.

The officials had expressed displeasure over certain system at the medical college and raised objection on the administrative capacity. As the administrative experience of the college superintendent was 8 years, the college was likely to lose 100 MBBS seats.
