MCL awards Odisha karateka Valena Valentina

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today awarded Rs one lakh to ace woman karateka of Odisha, Valena Valentina.

While presenting a cheque for Rs 1 lakh to Valentina at a function organised at MCL’s office here, MCL CMD AN Sahay wished her all success in the forthcoming events.

“Support from a corporate like MCL is indeed a great motivation. I will work hard to bring more laurels to the nation,” said Valentina while expressing her gratitude to MCL.

Valentina, who had won two gold medals at the South Asian Championship and the National Karate Championship held at Talkotara Stadium in New Delhi this year, will participate in the World Karate Championship organised by the World Karate Federation in Germany from October 4 to 10 this year.

MCL has been supporting promising sports persons of Odisha, who have excelled in sports like athletics, hockey and wind-surfing.
