MCL to set up medical college cum hospital at Talcher

Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) would set up a medical college and hospital at Talcher.

A MoU to this effect was signed between the company and the state government at the State Secretariat here today.
As per the MoU, the hospital, to be built at a cost of Rs 400 crore, will have 500 beds and 100 MBBS seats.
The state government would provide 20 acres of land to MCL for the proposed medical college and hospital that would be functional by 2016.
The academic session is scheduled to commence from 2016-17.
