MCL wins ‘Best Display’ award at Odisha MSME Expo

Coal India subsidiary Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a Government of India Enterprise, bagged the ‘Best Display’ award at the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Expo Odisha-2015 held at Cuttack from December 11 to 14.

The exhibit, displaying some items manufactured by small scale industry units and the overall activities of the company, was appreciated by the people and the dignitaries visiting the exhibition.

The award was received by A K Tiwari, Director (Technical/Operations), MCL from Debi Prashad Mishra, Minister for Industries, School & Mass Education in the Government of Odisha.

It may be noted that, MCL is one of the major coal producing companies of India. It is one of the eight subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, which was carved out of South Eastern Coalfields Limited in 1992 with its headquarters at Sambalpur. It has seven open cast mines and three underground coal mines spread across Odisha. Being the largest corporate in the state of Odisha, it has been providing opportunities of growth to local entrepreneurs.
