Medical college at Baripada to be named after Pt. Raghunath Murmu

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced that the new Government Medical College at Baripada will be named after Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the inventor of the Al Chiki script for the Santhali language..
“Late Pandit Raghunath Murmu, famous as Guru Gamkey among Santhali tribes, has developed the Al Chiki script for Santhali language. He has made immense contribution for Santhali Literature,” announced Patnaik briefing media persons at the state secretariat here today.
The Chief Minister will lay the foundation of the new medical college at Baripada on Monday.
