Meet 25-year-old IPS officer S Susree who led state-level Republic Day parade in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: It was a proud moment for 25-year-old IPS officer S Susree as she commanded the state-level Republic Day parade at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar today in the presence of Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

She is one of the youngest IPS officers of Odisha cadre. An officer of 2018 batch, Susree is currently serving as the Kesinga SDPO.

The woman IPS officer was nominated by Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay as the parade commander. She led 14 contingents of CRPF, RPF, ODRAF, OISF, Odisha Fire Service, SOG etc. in the parade.

Hailing from Kerala, Susree was born to Sunil Kumar, Assistant Commandant, CRPF and Sreekala, a teacher. She was a CBSE topper in 10th and 12th exams and also topped the Kerala University in BA in English.

Susree had cleared the UPSC examination in her first attempt by securing 151st rank.
