Mentally challenged woman raped in Odisha

Keonjhar, May 8:

A 28-year-old mentally challenged woman was raped by two persons on Saturday night in Keonjhar district of Odisha following which her family today filed a complaint with Turumunga police station in this regard after the victim narrated the ordeal yesterday.

According to the complaint, two persons identified as Petu Nayak and Padu Nayak hailing from the victim’s village, Chakundapal, abducted her on Saturday night while she was returning back home after watching a religious programme. She was raped by the duo taking turns.

Kabindra Prasad Sahoo, CDMO, Keonjhar said that medical examination of the victim has been conducted. The reports will reveal all details.

Meanwhile, the Turumunga police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.
