Mercury crosses 38 Degree C at 16 places in Odisha; Paralakhemundi hottest at 39.8

Bhubaneswar: The mercury soared across Odisha as at least 16 places in the state recorded the maximum temperature of 38 Degree Celsius or above today, said the IMD.

At least five places in Odisha recorded the maximum temperature of 39 Degree C or above. Paralakhemundi in Gajapati district recorded the highest maximum temperature of 39.8 Degree C in the state, said the IMD in its weather bulletin today.

The maximum temperature was 39.5 Degree C at Boudh, 39.2 Degree C at Nayagarh and Titlagarh and 39 Degree C at Bhawanipatna, added the IMD.

Altogether 11 Places in Odisha–Chandbali, Cuttack, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Hirakud, Talcher, Balangir, Phulbani, Malkangiri and Rayagada–recorded the maximum temperature in between 38 Degree C and 39 Degree C today.

At least three places in the state including the capital city and Sundargarh recorded the maximum temperature in between 37 Degree C and 38 Degree C, said the IMD.
