Mercury crosses 40 degree C at 25 places in Odisha; Baripada hottest with 44

Bhubaneswar: As many as 25 places in Odisha today recorded the maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius or above, said the IMD.

Baripada was the hottest place in the state with 44 degree C day temperature, followed by Jharsuguda (42.8).

The other places where the maximum temperature touched 40 degree C or above are Talcher (42.6), Boudh (42.5), Titlagarh (42.5), Sambalpur (42.2), Bolangir (42.2), Angul (42.1), Sonepur (42.1), Sundargarh (42), Rourkela (41.8), Bhawanipatna (41.5), Cuttack (41.2), Keonjhar (41.2), Hirakud (40.6), Bhubaneswar (40.6), Dhenkanal (40.5), Chandbali (40.3), Nuapada (40.2), Paralakehmundi (41.1), Jagatsinghpur (40), Nayagarh (40), Jajpur (40), Bhadrak (40) and Jajpur (40).

This apart, several places in the state also recoded maximum temperature of 39 degree C, added the IMD.
