Bhubaneswar: The maximum temperature crossed 40 Degree Celsius in Odisha for the first time in this year today.
Malkangiri recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41 Degree C in Odisha today, said the IMD.
The maximum temperature was 40.5 Degree C at Boudh and Titlagarh, 40.2 Degree C at Balangir and 40 Degree C at Nayagarh, added the IMD.
Five places in Odisha--Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna, Sonepur, Paralakhemundi and Nuapada--recorded the maximum temperature in between 39 Degree C and 40 Degree C.
According to the IMD, nine places in the state--Chandbali, Angul, Keonjhargarh, Sundargarh, Talcher, Phulbani, Rayagada, Nabarangpur and Rourkela—recorded the maximum temperature in between 38 Degree C and 39 Degree c.
The maximum temperature was 37 Degree C at the capital city and 37.6 Degree C at Cuttack, said the IMD.
