Mercury dips in Odisha; 6 places record below 10 degree C

Bhubaneswar: With the onset of winter, the mercury plunged across Odisha as many places experienced colder nights yesterday.

According to Regional Meteorological Centre, at least six places stood below 10 degree Celsius on Friday night. While Kirei in Sundargarh district was the coldest place at 8.3 degree C, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district recorded minimum temperature 8.4 degree C, Phulbani 8.5 degree C, Koraput 9.5 degree C, Ranital (Bhadrak) 9.6 degree C and Rourkela 9.8 degree C.

Five places recorded 10 degree C last night. They were Chipilima (Sambalpur), Angul, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Daringibadi (Kandhamal). Jharsuguda recorded 10.2 degree C.

Furthermore, the minimum temperature dropped in Odisha’s Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. While Bhubaneswar recorded 13.2 degree C last night, Cuttack had 13.5 degree C.
