Bhubaneswar: Mercury plummeted across Odisha as the minimum temperature settled below 12 degree Celsius in many parts of the state in the morning today.
According to Bhubaneswar MeT, Daringbadi, known as Kashmir of Odisha, stood at 9.5 degree C, the lowest temperature, followed by Keonjhargarh (10 degree C).
As per the cold wave condition observed by 8.30 am on Thursday, Balasore and Jharsuguda recorded 10.3 degree C, Angul 10.6 degree C, Phulbani 11 degree C, Baripada, Sambalpur and Sundargarh 11.5 degree C.
The Twin City of the state -- Cuttack and Bhubaneswar -- recorded 12.4 degree C and 14.8 degree C respectively in the morning.
Similarly the places like Chandbali recorded the minimum temperature 12.9 degree C, Paradip 15.8 degree C, Puri 14.8 degree C, Hirakud 14.6 degree C, Talcher 14.7 degree C, Koraput 12.8 degree C, Titilagarh 12.6 degree C, Balangir 15.6 degree C, Malkangiri 18 degree C and Sonepur 18.2 degree C.
However, Gopalpur in Ganjam district recorded the maximum temperature of 29.2 degree C and minimum temperature of 19.1 degree C.
