Mercury dips further in Odisha as Phulbani shivers at 3.8 degrees

The ongoing cold wave in Odisha has intensified further with temperature dipping by nearly 2 degree Celsius in most parts of the state today.

As per the weather bulletin released by the Met office here this evening, Phulbani continued to the coldest place in the state at 3.8 degrees Celsius while temperature remained below 10 degrees in Baleswar (9.7), Baripada (8), Jharsuguda (9.8), Keonjhar (5.9), Sundargarh (9.9), Bhawanipatna (6.7), Koraput (7.8) and Daringbadi (9).

The places where temperature remained between 10 and 13 degree Celsius are Chandbali (12.2), Cuttack (12.8), Bhubaneswar (13.6), Angul (12), Sambalpur (11), Hirakud (10), Talcher (12), Bolangir (10.3), Titlagarh (12), Malkangiri (10.2), Sonepur (11.4) and Dhenkanal (11).

The impending cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal may bring a slight rise in the minimum temperature in the state before dipping again in the New Year, weather experts say.
