Mercury drops below 10 Degree Celsius at 11 places in Odisha; moderate fog likely in 12 dists on Dec 18

Bhubaneswar: Cold weather conditions prevailed across Odisha as mercury plummeted below 10 Degree Celsius at as many as 11 places in the state on Saturday.

According to the IMD regional office, Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 8 Degree Celsius on Saturday night. Kirei in Sundargarh recorded minimum temperature of 8.2 Degree C, G. Udayagiri 8.6 Degree C, Rourkela 8.8 Degree C, Angul 9 Degree C, Ranitala 9.4 Degree C, Daringbadi and Sundargarh both 9.5 Degree C, Keonjhar and Koraput both 9.6 Degree C and Jharsuguda 9.8 Degree C last night, said the IMD.

Koraput and Kandhamal districts in South Odisha witnessed dense fog while one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi and Keonjhar reported shallow fog in last 24 hours, added the IMD in its weather bulletin today.

“There will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) across the state during the next four/five days,” predicted the IMD.

As per the IMD prediction, dry weather is very likely to prevail across the state in the next six days.

However, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur in Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts on December 18 (Monday), said the IMD
