Mercury drops below 15 degree C at 11 places in Odisha; Sonepur coldest at 9 degree C

Bhubaneswar:  Cold wave continues to sweep Odisha with the mercury dropping below 15 degree Celsius in as many as 11 places in the state.

Sonepur remained the coldest station in the state by recording minimum temperature of 9 degree Celsius last night followed by Daringibadi and and Angul with 9.5 and 10.6 degree Celsius, respectively. The other places that registered below 15 degree Celsius are Phulbani (11.3), Keonjhar (12), Baripada (12.4), Bhawanipatna (12.8), Koraput (13), Jharsuguda (13.2) and Balangir (14).

The Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar witnessed minimum temperature of 14.8 and 16 degree Celsius last night, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Regional MeT Centre here yesterday predicted that the minimum temperature (night temperature) is very likely to fall by two to three degree Celsius at a few places during the next
48 hours and no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
