Mercury levels soar up across Odisha

Temperature levels soared up in most parts of Odisha today with the state capital recording the highest 37.7 degree Celsius.

While Malkangiri recorded 37.2 degree Celsius, the temperature stood above 36 degree in Baleswar (36.2), Chandbali (36.4), and Titlagarh (36.5).

The average temperature in the state was 34.6 degree Celsius, the local Met office said.

The Met department, however, predicted that thunder squall accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind of about 60-70 kmph may occur at one or two places in Ganjam, Kandhamal and Gajapati districts in the next 24 hours.
