Bhubaneswar: There will be no let up from intense cold wave conditions across Odisha in the next 2-3 days, regional meteorological department said here today.
The evening bulletin of the Indian Meteorological department predicted mercury to further dip by at least two to three notches in the next 2-3 days.
While Phulbani shivered at 5 degree Celsius, eight other stations recorded sub 10 degree Celsius. Balasore (9.5), Angul (8.6), Jharsuguda (9.6), Keonjhar (7.2), Sambalpur (9.8), Titlagarh (9.5), Sonepur (9) and Daringibadi (6) recorded minimum temperature below 10 degree Celsius.
The night temperature (minimum temperature) will very likely be below normal by 2-3 degree Celsius over the districts of Odisha during next 2-3 days, the bulletin said.
Temperature at several places in Phulbani district plummeted making life difficult for people. People preferred to get home before 5 pm due to the bone-chilling conditions. In the morning, foggy conditions prevailed since last few days till 9 am.
Similarly, cold wave also prevailed in Keonjhar district where two persons reportedly died due to the dipping mercury.
