Mercury to plummet further in Odisha from Jan 24

Bhubaneswar: With prevalence of cold wave conditions across Odisha, the minimum temperature likely to plummet further from January 24.

There will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next two days and fall by 2 to 4 degree Celsius thereafter over the districts of Odisha, the regional meteorological centre, Bhubaneswar, said in a bulletin today.

People of Odisha will wake up to foggy morning in the chilly winter during next two days.

According to Bhubaneswar, the dense fog very likely occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Kendrapada, Sonepur, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Angul, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh between January 22 and 23.

The dense fog is also on the cards for one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Boudh, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Puri, Kalahandi, Koraput, Keonjhar from January 23 to 24.

However, the weather is likely to be dry over the districts of during next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the MeT also issued warning for the farmers as the dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, Kendrapada, Sonepur, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bolangir, Angul, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh for next 24 hours.

The weather warning for fishermen will remain valid for next five days from today.
