Mercury to shoot up by 6.5 degree C in Odisha’s Twin City today; extreme weather to prevail during Raja

Bhubaneswar: With the heatwave condition prevailing across Odisha, IMD issued extremely severe heatwave warning for Twin City Bhubaneswar and Cuttack for today.

As per IMD forecast, the maximum temperature is likely to exceed by 6.5 degree Celsius today as compared to normal days in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities.

Today, people of Bhubaneswar woke up to humid conditions caused by warm atmosphere. By 8.30 am, the temperature was 35 degree Celsius and 65% humidity.

The temperature in other parts of the state was more in the morning. While Jharsuguda recorded 37.2 degree C, the morning temperature was 36.6 degree C in Sambalpur and 35.4 degree in Hirakud.

As there will not be large change in day temperature, the extreme weather condition may mar the festive mood during 3-day Raja festival in Odisha.

According to IMD, the scorching heat and severe humidity are likely to continue during Raja festival from June 14 to 16.
