Bhubaneswar: The local meteorological centre here today issued lightning and thunderstorm warning for 15 districts of Odisha.

“Latest doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm with  lightning and rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Angul, Balangir, Nuapada, Baragarh , Baudh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri and Rayagada between  06.30 pm  and 10.30 pm,” a bulletin of the meteorological centre.

People in these districts have been asked to take shelter in nearby buildings and other places of safety.
