Veteran actor Minaketan, who is battling with pancreatic cancer, received a sum of monetary assistance from Odisha government for treatment.
Odisha Culture department today handed over Rs 1 lakh cheque to Minaketan’s wife Kanchanbala for fast recovery from disease.
Earlier, the family had sought help from government to bear the high cost for the treatment. According to report, total cost of expenditure for the treatment will be Rs 35 lakh.
Notably, the versatile actor Minaketan is undergoing treatment at Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai after he was diagnosed with deadly pancreatic cancer.
As he is in early stage of pancreatic cancer, Dr Suresh Advani, who is attending him, has assured him of recovery through treatment.
Wishes and prayers poured in for the actor soon after the news was aired in media.
