Minor boy drowns in pond in Odisha

Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a minor boy was drowned in a pond in Sadangi village in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district today.

The deceased minor has been identified as Jeevan Behera.

According to reports, Jeevan, a Class-X student was playing cricket with his friends. While they were playing the ball suddenly fell into the nearby pond.

Jeevan, who had no knowledge of swimming, jumped into the pond to collect the ball. While trying to collect the ball from the pond he was drowned. Though his friends tried to rescue him, they failed.

On being informed, villagers rescued Jeevan but by that time he was dead, reports added.
