Minor boy goes missing in Odisha village; irate locals create ruckus suspecting child sacrifice

Keonjhar: Palpable tension prevailed at Bidyadharpur village under Hatadihi block in Keonjhar district after irate locals created a ruckus in the locality suspecting child sacrifice last night.

As per reports, a 7-year-old boy, son of one Bijay Murmu, of Khanibazaar area in Bidyadharpur village has gone missing since February 23. Last evening, his shirt was recovered near an English medium school in the locality.

Soon after, angry locals created nuisances by ransacking the school suspecting that the minor was sacrificed for constriction of a canal in the nearby. Besides, they torched two machines of a contracting agency engaged in construction of the canal.

On receiving information, a firefighting team was pressed into service to douse the flames. Later, the local police reached the spot and pacified the villagers.

Till the last report was filed, the missing boy was not traced.
