Minor boy hacked to death in Odisha capital, 4 held

Bhubaneswar: A 13-year-old boy was allegedly hacked to death by four youths at Bharatpur under Khandagiri police limits in Odisha capital.

The deceased, identified as Badal Padhi, was attacked by the accused with knife on September 2 evening. He had sustained grievous injuries in the assault and hospitalised. The minor boy succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment late last night.

Tension ran high after the death of the boy as more than 50 of his supporters reached Khandagiri police station demanding arrest of the accused. They also set a shop at Bharatpur on fire.

Police have arrested four persons in connection with the attack.

On the other hand, policemen have been deployed in the locality to avoid any untoward incident. Sources said the murderous attack was a fallout of past enmity.
